Continuing the trend, we had an even greater turnout today
at clinic. We served about 400 patients
and have already broken the record for people served last year!
Many that showed up mentioned that word was getting out that
Jesus was in the building, which is why we had so many people to see. We know that this is true and are so thankful
for His presence. We continue to save so
many, both spiritually and physically.
The whole team feels so blessed and the stories. One good one was of a patient at the glasses
table who had a lot of trouble seeing.
We didn’t have a strong enough prescription, but after prayer, she said
she was able to see out the window for the first time in a long time. Another woman was able to hear out of her
deaf ear after prayer.
Meanwhile, we sent a team with Amanda to Badplaas this morning and they were overwhelmed with the great turnout. They were able to see a lot of kids on top of our record day.
What up, it’s Shannon. I (and the whole team) want to send a special shout out to my husband, Brook. I hope you had a great first flight and thanks for “refueling” us with your comments!
SHOUT OUT Jane.... we all were so happy when Lance posted your blog spot! Paula B wants to initiate face licking as soon as our church gets a little closer!! I just want you to know I am in serious prayer for you (prayed in the most wonderful spot at Pointsett St. Park - wow!!) and I prayed in the middle of the night for your new day because I think you are about 8 hours ahead--??? Anyway, know you are loved and prayed for - as is the whole team, and every person you meet on your record breaking days. May God continue to bless with health, energy, sense of His presence and His angels, good sleep, and continued miracles!!! love love love you precious friend!!!

ReplyDeleteHey Shan and everyone,
ReplyDeleteWow! That is so awesome, praise God that so many were seen and that you are able to be Jesus' love towards so many. You are truly touching lives. By the way, Garrett gave great advice... shout out to Anthony and Jessica! :) Blackwell and Anthony you look like you are telling a really interesting story in that picture.
Roy - I miss building giant roofs with you and hearing your wisdom at the talks at the end of the night. I'm sure you are making people laugh, inspiring people, and working hard there.
Micah - I miss your lifesavers and jolly ranchers. Hopefully everyone is benefiting from your free candy and great smelling breath. you should smell his breath if you haven't today. I was driving down the road, and I heard the song "Shine" by Pillar and I secretly was playing air guitar in my car pretending I was Micah Nichols. In case Amanda didn't tell you today, you are awesome at the guitar. Seriously though, I'm sure everyone loves hearing you play at the end of the night as everyone thinks about God's presence and what he did throughout the day.
I love reading Claudia's comments to Jane - Shout out to Jane too! Jane, I don't believe we have met, but I hope face licking becomes the new thing across churches in America. I'll be sure to bring it up to my Pastor in Philly.
Everyone turn to your neighbor and lick their face! Just kidding, that's gross. Love you guys and hope you have a wonderful day, that you are encouraged, and know that you have so many back home who love you and are praying for you!
Brook
Incredible to read all that God is doing! Miss you Micah, (Jack) Amanda and Dee! Wish Korea wasn't so far from Africa. I'd hop right over. I love you guys.
ReplyDeleteTallon - Beautiful picture! We pray you are having a wonderful experience and want you to know that you are awesome. Love you - Dad
ReplyDeleteI constantly pray for all of you. May you all grow in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Avoid the noise of the evil one. When he appears, just say "JESUS", because evil marches out and away at the mention of HIS Name. 1CHO 4:10b "And provide your personal protection--don't let evil hurt me." God gave him what he asked" (TM).[From the prayer of Jabez]. Ros
ReplyDeleteSo awesome to see what God is up to! We had a great dinner with Wes tonight. All we missed were Dee and Amamda. We love y'all and can't wait to see your smiling faces!
ReplyDeleteBrook, I hope your pilot-eyes are better than your photo eyes. Anthony and Blackwell are clearly playing a rediculous hand gesture game. Still, I love and miss you all the same :)
ReplyDeleteMicah, I was writing out notes for the band this weekend and realized I'm about as good a band leader as you are a classical singer (I know you think you're Pavarotti in the shower, but...pigs can't fly, so there's that). It appears we're going to be adopting the mindset of, "wow...Micah's not here and we're lost without him - everybody just break dance instead. It'll draw their attention away from our poor musicianship"! Seriously, though...you're invaluable in what you do for our worship team and - though I wish I were with you, serving, worshiping, and loving the people of South Africa - I can't wait for you to be back!
I'm so glad to hear the turnout has been incredible this year! That has to be so exciting to see the people lined up before you even arrive - having sometimes walked great distances to meet this, Jesus. Always remember - though the medical wisdom and physical healing is necessary and even heartwarming - the only true healing for us all is the presence of God in our lives. I'm praying that you are all filled with the Joy of the Lord and act as conduits of His grace, mercy, love and healing power. Call upon God for His strength and he will make you His shining light for all to see. Love you all!

Phyliss, send Vimbia my regards to her and her beautiful family. I see where Amanda took a team to Badplaas. I do hope were able to go and see your girls. Sleep well. GOD still has things for you to do. Say "hi" to Janice for me. Going for a long walk.
ReplyDeletehi - with reading your notes for day 3, i thought of Isaiah 35 verse 4b 5&6 "but He will save you. then the eyes of the blind will be opened, and the ears of the deaf will be unstopped, the lame will leap like a deer!" what a Mighty God we serve !!! (tell Dee hakuna matata - no worries!) - nancy
ReplyDeleteMason -
ReplyDeleteAwesome that you're there, and Mom and I have been praying for your team. Very proud of you.
Love, Dad and Mom
P.S. Claire, Robert, Jordan, Tish, John, Cindy, Kelly are all here cheering you on!
We can second that feeling of being proud of you Mason!! Showed all at work the photo of you working hard. Everyone at MOA is praying for your continued work and care of the patients there!
ReplyDeleteAnnsley,
ReplyDeleteIt looks like all of you are doing an awesome job and getting plenty of experience. I continue to pray for your last days in Badplaas to be safe, thrilling, and fulfilling, though I am looking forward to your return. I may be selfish, but I miss my precious, sweet, beauty. Love, Mom (& Dad) xoxo
Good morning JANE!!!!! this week is flying!!! Can only imagine the state of your heart. Reading Luke 1:76-79. It refers to John the Baptist but I see this team in the words.....
ReplyDeleteFor you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for Him, to give His people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising Sun will come to us from Heaven to shine on those living in darkness ....." shine on dear Jane, prayers for you and the whole team
